Business Leadership Program Overview: 

Synchrony’s Business Leadership Program (Full-Time) is a two-year, three-rotation experience that will help you develop the skills needed to accelerate your career. You’ll gain deep expertise in one of our 10 Tracks, taking on three unique roles to explore different areas of your chosen function. During the two years, you will also engage in a collection of immersive experiences designed to deepen your business knowledge, drive cross-functional exposure, broaden your network, and pay it forward within your community. 

The program provides successful graduates with the strong foundation of skills and experiences they need to grow their careers and position themselves for future leadership roles. 

 
Risk Management Full-Time BLP Experience: What You’ll Accomplish  
 
Risk Management provides an independent assessment of Synchrony’s risks through establishing the risk limits of the company and measuring to ensure the business operates within those limits. We ensure that all relevant risks in our business activities are appropriately identified, measured, monitored and controlled. 
 

A Risk Management BLP will challenge teams throughout our business on their actions to ensure they fully understand their risks. This gives you exposure across our business functions, as well as across our Risk functions: 

• Credit Risk 

• Operational Risk, including Model Risk 

• Compliance 

• Strategic Risk 

• Model Market and Liquidity Risk 

What do we look for in all potential BLPs? 

• Ability to effectively work independently and within collaborative teams  

• Proven leadership both inside and beyond the classroom 

• Strong project management and communication skills 

• Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and passion for learning  

• Passion for excellence with high integrity and a commitment to quality 

• Relevant internship or co-op or equivalent work experience  

Desired Characteristics for the Risk Management Track 

• Analytical and problem-solving skills 

• Intellectual curiosity 

• Ability to synthesize complex information 

• Critical reasoning, problem-solving and creative thinking 

• Strong leadership skills, including the ability to lead projects of varying scope 

• Finance or accounting knowledge/experience 

• Strong work ethic, passion for excellence with high integrity, and commitment to quality 

 
Basic Qualifications & Requirements 

• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management (preferred), Actuarial Science, Analytics, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or other relevant major 

• Excellent academic record – Minimum overall 3.0 GPA
