Job Description
Main Responsibilities
- Fund Accounting reviews and Oversight: Ensure accurate accounting for private investment funds, including NAV calculations, financial and investor reporting.
- Client Service: Manage the Fund Services Dallas team’s reporting calendars of deliverables and ensure client KPIs are consistently met.
- Financial reporting: Review and approve financial statements in compliance with GAAP.[DL1]
- Waterfall Modelling: Support the provision of carried interest and waterfall calculations (including scenario analysis) services to our clients.
- Audit Coordination: Liaise with external auditors and complete all necessary reporting and investigation associated with Financial Statements and address any issues or recommendations raised.
- Technical Guidance: Provide expertise on accounting standards, changes in market practice and relevant regulations.
- Team leadership: Manage and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional development and ensuring team performance
- Collaboration: Work closely with the solutions team and senior leadership across Fund services to deliver strategic firm initiatives for the benefit of our clients.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements for fund accounting and financial and investor reporting to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Client Interaction: Serve as a technical expert for our clients regarding private fund structures, supporting fund onboardings, accounting issues, reporting and inquiries.
- Policies and procedures: Ensure fit for purpose and consistent adherence with fund services global operating model.
- Risk Management: Ensure effective recording of issues and risks detected in line with firm policies and relevant remedial action plans implemented to correct and prevent re-occurrence.
- Business development support: Support profitable business growth, actively contribute to answering RFPs and commercial propositions and support the onboarding of new business.
- Global Operating Model: Support the deployment of Ocorian’s global operating model as appropriate for new and existing clients.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in private fund accounting with proven track record of managing client centric US fund accounting teams.
- Bachelor or university degree in accounting, finance or equivalent. Ideally CPA qualified or equivalent qualifications.
- Experience working with private equity / real asset managers on US and Cayman fund structures as well as US GAAP.
- Experience with private market accounting systems ideally including Investran/Private Capital Suite and/or e-Front.
- Understanding of different private asset instruments and investment strategies and asset classes such as private equity, private debt, real estate, fund of funds and infrastructure.
- Experience building waterfall models and providing related scenario analysis
- Ability to work under pressure and manage demanding internal and client deadlines
- Ability to manage teams to deliver consistent quality client reporting within tight deadlines.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and to manage and prioritise their workload.
