More specifically, the intern will help develop novel AI-based solutions for improved spatiotemporal context awareness by leveraging wireless signals captured via mmWave Radar or Wi-Fi Channel State Information (CSI). The potential applications can be detecting objects that are not visible to human eyes, and determining the presence, location, and biometrics of people. This may include research related to the camera to wireless knowledge distillation and multimodal fusion (fusing wireless signals with camera data).

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Perform a literature study to determine state-of-the-art solutions and explore the availability of publicly available datasets. If a relevant dataset is not available, collect relevant (wireless and camera) data by deploying appropriate sensors.
  • Develop a novel wireless perception algorithm using signal processing and AI-based techniques for improved context awareness.
  • Evaluate the performance of the solution.
  • Summarize the findings and publish a high-quality research paper.
  • Show a proof-of-concept demo.
