About the role

Description

Position Summary

As a Consumer Loan Processor for First Alliance Credit Union you will be responsible for aiding in the tracking of consumer loan lien perfections and releases, handling member inquiries, managing home equity, manufactured home documentation and assisting with the ordering of appraisal services. You will support our indirect lending program by reviewing loan packets for accuracy, opening the required membership, and funding indirect loans.  

Essential Functions

  • Consumer Lien Perfections: Track, assign follow up actions, file and release consumer lien perfections within guidelines, and work with lenders on the correction of gathering missed lien perfections.
  • Home Equity/Manufactured Home Support: Aid in the disclosure, loan documentation generation, review, and funding of Home Equity and Manufactured Home Loan.
  • Appraisal Management: Aid the real estate department in the ordering of services when needed including appraisals.
  • Indirect Loan Booking: Review indirect loan packets for accuracy and completeness. Follow up on missing or incorrect documentation, open new memberships as needed, book and fund indirect deals.
  • Loan Maintenance: Aid members, internal and external, on loan maintenance such as loan payment reversals, payoffs, and general loan research.
  • Collaboration: work closely with all lending departments to supply support, feedback, and assistance as needed.
  • Member Experience: Assist members as needed regarding loan questions, collateral protection insurance tracking and follow up, questions regarding debt protection claims, etc. While ensuring a strong and smooth member experience.
  • Process & Procedure: Focus on ways to enhance processes and procedures to ensure a smooth an efficient process for all. Educate internal team members on processes, and changes.
  • Compliance: Stay knowledgeable on credit union policies, procedures, and guidelines to help ensure loans are processed accordingly.
  • Other duties as assigned by Loan Administration Manager

Pay and Benefits

Starting Pay: $18.63- $21.91 an hour

There may be an increase of base pay based on skills and experience.

Requirements

Competencies

  • Education: High school education or GED
  • Experience: Minimum of 1+ year of experience in member service, with at least 1 year within financial services preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster trust and rapport.
  • Ability to problem-solve and navigate complex issues 
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to use a personal computer and related software applications.
  • Solid math and bookkeeping abilities
