Position Title and Overview:
The agency is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support the day-to-day financial operations of the organization. The Accountant position is responsible for processing transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with monthly closings, payroll, and other core accounting functions. This role helps ensure timely and accurate financial data entry and contributes to the overall integrity of the agency’s financial reporting.
The Accountant will report to the Controller, collaborate with the finance team, and work closely with staff across departments to support the agency’s fiscal operations and compliance efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support billing, accounts payable, payroll, and month-end close processes
- Prepare and enter journal entries and transactional data
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data processing
- Verify data that has been entered for quality and accuracy
- Collaborate with finance team members to maintain smooth operations
- Assist with financial reporting and other duties as assigned
Location and Travel Requirements:
This position is primarily located in McKeesport. All positions are also expected to come to training, meetings, and other events at Main Campus in McKeesport, as scheduled.
Qualifications

Position Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree required (Accounting, Business, or Finance preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in accounting
- Knowledge of general accounting principles
- Non-profit accounting and MIP software experience a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and related tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and follow-through
- Strong desire to learn and develop professionally
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
- Flexibility to work extended hours during peak periods
