Sr. Manager, Cost Estimating

As part of a passionate and accomplished team of cost estimating experts, this position will directly impact the history of space exploration by lowering the cost of access to space. Your efforts will directly inform Design-to-Cost (DTC) targets, Design-for-Manufacture (DFM) analysis, and Supply Chain negotiations across all Blue Origin space programs. You will be supporting cost reduction initiatives across the company and providing cost estimates for parts and assemblies in your area of expertise. As a senior leader in the team, you will support the Director in managing a team of estimators, conducting technical reviews, and ensuring timeliness and quality of estimating team deliverables.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of direct experience estimating one or more of the following types of aerospace components: Machined parts, Castings, Forgings, Sheet metal, Formed parts, Tubes, Composites, AM parts, Assemblies, Avionics, Harnesses, PCBA.

• Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes and ability to evaluate and analyze associated costs based on part drawings.

• Demonstrated track record of success in providing Design for Manufacturability (DFM) feedback for engineering, supporting supplier negotiations, and reviewing supplier quotes.

• Ability to manage and mentor a team of estimators, improve productivity, and ensure on-time deliverables.

• Experience developing and utilizing complex estimating software tools and methods.

• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.

• Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally within a geographically disperse organization.

• Attention to detail and high quality of deliverables.

• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

• 10+ years of experience with estimating components for the Aerospace or Space industry.

• 3+ years of experience in managing team of estimators or estimating projects.

• aPriori experience is a plus.

• Experience with aerospace procurement, government compliance and quality systems.

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $143,812.50-$201,337.50

Other site ranges may differ
