The NRO Cadre is collecting resumes for consideration against current opportunities for Mission Support (occupational series 0301 or 0340) in the Geospatial Intelligence Systems Acquisition Directorate (GEOINT). GEOINT is the single National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) entity that acquires, provides launch integration, initialization, and maintenance of the national imagery space systems to bring valuable information to the warfighters, analysts, and policy makers. We have an exciting mission, focused on delivering the NRO’s top priority programs through innovative acquisition strategies and technology demonstrations. Within GEOINT, we maintain a strong MISSION FOCUS while ensuring our people have the support, training, and resources they need to be successful.

Basic Eligibility for a Position With the NRO

- You must be 18 years of age or older
- You must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance
- You will be subject to pre-employment and periodic drug testing

What You Will Be Doing
- Organizes, plans and directs project management activities for the Directorate. Independently initiates, leads, manages, plans, implements and/or oversees large single projects or several small projects with moderate to high complexity and risk tolerance coordinating activities. Lead projects using various LifeCycle Development Methodologies.
- The work includes significant responsibility equivalent to a project with multiple resource implications such as human resources, funding, facilities, and equipment. Engages and collaborates across the Directorates and Offices (D's and O's) to ensure understanding of business needs and processes.
- Oversees major project and program decisions that affect long-range courses of action of critical importance. Serves as the authoritative source for decisions and guidance dealing with compromises and changes in project objectives
- Plans, programs, and oversees the planning, design, and construction of projects in coordination with D's and O's to ensure that projects are completed within guidelines and objectives. Reviews and evaluates the status of life cycle projects for attainment of overall project objectives. Coordinates and obtains appropriate level of approval for project cost estimates and schedule changes.
- Manages daily programmatic functions, interfaces with mission partners across the IC and DoD, reaches out to operational users to ensure proper program support. Oversees work effort of assigned staff.
- Provides extensive coordination and guidance to a wide range of government, military, and contractor personnel on methods, processes, practices, lessons learned and risk mitigation.
