Yard Driver (CDL A) - 2nd Shift

Distribution Center

DESCRIPTION:

• Must be able to assist in any area of the facility and perform functions of a Merchandise Processor II and/or Merchandise Processor III
• Operate Tractor-Trailer in a safe and efficient manner
• Switch and move trailers in the yard
• Use pallet jack and operate PIE equipment
• Travel to move stock between distribution centers
• Make deliveries and pickups as needed
• Responsible for performing pre and post trip inspections
• Maintain work logs and records
• Maintain safeguards of confidential company information
• Understands team objectives within assigned work area
• Accurately performs data entry via PC/RF
• Must be flexible to constantly changing conditions, both as they relate to the work schedule and project site conditions
• Maintain safe work practices
• Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License with airbrake & trailer endorsement
• Detail oriented
• Able to lift 50 lbs; weight requirements may vary within work areas
• Stand for duration of work shift and walk/move continuously
• Ability to work independently or in team as assigned
• Must have a good driving record (DMV clearance)
• Experience with heavy equipment preferred

• Previous PC/RF experience preferred; basic keyboarding skills; computer literate (knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel)
• Distribution center experience preferred
• Previous power industrial equipment experience preferred
• Basic math skills
• Good hand/eye coordination
• Ability to work independently or in team as assigned
• Quality conscious and detail oriented
• Flexibility - will be required to work in other areas, overtime and extended hours
• Understand and follow verbal and written instructions

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Lift, carry, push, pull, reach, grasp, bend, stoop and climb for up to 10 hours at a time
• Climb stairs
• Stand for duration of work shift and walk/move continuously
• Work around moving machinery/equipment
• Adjust to climate changes; hot and cold extremes may occur in warehouse
• Perform frequent/reoccurring movement (folding, hanging clothing, wrapping, packing, closing, ticketing, etc.)
• Lift up to 50 pounds several times per day; weight requirements may vary within work areas; perform overhead lifting as necessary
• Work comfortably on open platform/loft areas that are elevated to a second or third story level 

WORK SCHEDULE:

• Full-time
• 2nd Shift 3pm-11pm
• Able to flex up and work overtime as needed
