Maintenance Assistant!

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of adults with diverse abilities? Join our team at Camp via West to help maintain our beautiful grounds in Cupertino!

JOIN OUR TEAM to assists in the maintenance and repair of the camp’s buildings, grounds, equipment and other facilities

Compensation: $22.00-$25.00/hr (based on education and experience)

Schedule:  This is a part time position with option to go Full time during Summers (May-August)

ABOUT THE ROLE – What we value:

• • Operate Lawn Care Equipment: Safely and efficiently use various tools like trimmers, blowers, and chainsaws for lawn care and tree trimming tasks.

  • Maintenance & Landscaping Tasks: Perform a variety of maintenance, landscaping, and horticultural duties, including light repairs and upkeep around the facility.

  • General Maintenance & Repairs: Complete tasks such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical repairs, within qualifications and as needed.

  • Assist in Pool Operations: Help with the management and maintenance of pools and related equipment, ensuring proper functioning and cleanliness.

  • Supervise Volunteers & Event Setup: Oversee volunteer groups on projects and assist with event set-up and take-down, ensuring tasks are completed to Via West standards.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

Below is a list of education and work experience qualifications. We encourage you to apply even if you may not meet all the listed qualifications and you are interested in joining our team.  

• One year of experience performing at least some of the listed duties
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred 

HIRING REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid California Driver’s License/ID 
• Proof of negative TB test results 
• Verification of occupational physical clearance
• Pass a criminal fingerprint clearance 
• 18 years of age or job permit clearance

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:

• Ability to operate lawn and all maintenance and repair equipment safely and
• Physical mobility and endurance to perform tasks while standing/walking for long periods of time (60 minutes or more).
• Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds at
