POSITION: Area Director of Standalone Elementary Clubs
LOCATION: Mission Support
REPORTS TO: Director of Youth and Family Services
DEPARTMENT: Youth and Family Services (YFS)
CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
The Area Director of Standalone Elementary Clubs will play a critical role in helping Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington (BGCSW) achieve its vision to provide high-quality services. The Area Director of Standalone Elementary Clubs will be responsible for a variety of significant activities, including internal operations, oversight and leadership of Clubs and targeted programs, and supervision and development of staff, as well as program evaluation.
LEADERSHIP, MANAGEMENT, & ACCOUNTABILITY
- Model and live into the BGSCW’s Core Values and Club Code.
- Lead a supportive, energetic, and effective team to achieve annual program performance and engagement goals.
- Hire, train, support, supervise, and evaluate Elementary Club Directors.
- Engage in ongoing professional development for direct reports and Club staff.
- Provide data summary reports and evaluations to organizational leadership and board of directors, as appropriate.
- Engage in ongoing programming and Club evaluation using data.
- Collaborate with the Grants Manager on narrative and summary reports related to grants.
- Manage Club budgets, collaborate with the Finance & Administration Department in the budgeting process, and monitor year-to-date variances in operational revenue, Club staffing, and program expenditures.
- Collaborate with the Director of Safety and Operations on youth safety policies and Club facilities.
- Collaborate with the Director of Safety and Operations, Director of Youth and Family Services, Associate Director of Youth and Family Services, and Behavioral Health Services on high-level Incident Reports at Standalone Clubs.
- Collaborate with the Associate Director of Youth and Family Services and Behavioral Health Services on Success Plans for Standalone Clubs.
- Support Club Directors in managing their Clubs and supplies.
- May include evening and weekend events and field trips.
- Other duties may be assigned in order to achieve program goals.
PROGRAMMING IN PRIORITY OUTCOME AREAS
- Train and coach direct reports in the design and implementation of programs aligned with our priority outcome areas of Character & Leadership and Academic Success.
- Collaborate with the Associate Director of Youth and Family Services to implement Healthy Lifestyle activities and programs in Clubs.
- Collaborate with the Associate Director of Youth and Family Services to learn and incorporate behavior supports, self-regulation, coping strategies, and social skills across Clubs.
- Train and coach Standalone Club staff to integrate strength-based and restorative engagement strategies into the Club environment (e.g., Zones of Regulation, calming spaces, PAX Tools, etc.) utilizing BGCA and locally developed resources.
- Collaborate with staff members to learn and incorporate behavior supports, self-regulation, coping strategies, and social skills into programming.
- Collaborate with the Director of Youth and Family Services on evaluation activities, including data collection, programming observations, contracts, and grant activities relating to program evaluation and measurement.
CLUB & PROGRAMMING PARTNERSHIPS
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships, both internally and externally, with Clubhouse staff, leadership, families, youth, schools, community groups, and other related agencies to strengthen partnerships and support Club members.
- Support Clubhouse and school-partnered events such as back-to-school nights, mental health family nights, and tween nights.
- Maintain confidentiality and adherence to all privacy expectations and ethical obligations.
YOUTH & FAMILY ENGAGEMENT
- Ensure Clubs meet the organization’s membership and attendance goals, maintain proper recordkeeping, and achieve program results for grant-funded programs.
