The Field Service Technician is responsible for the delivery of high-quality customer service, performing preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of Hach devices located at our customer sites. The customer base for this role is anticipated to be a combination of municipal (i.e., drinking and wastewater treatment facilities) and industrial (i.e., power plants and food and beverage plants).

This position is part of the North America Field Service Team located in Austin, TX, and will be remote.

In this role, a typical day will look like:
 

  • 50-75% travel within a 90-mile radius of Austin, TX. You can expect to have up to an average of 6-8 nights away each month with company-paid accommodations and meals. The company will provide all necessary accommodations for your overnight shifts. This includes private rooms in quality hotels such as Holiday Inn

  • Perform preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of instrumentation using established company standard work.

  • Promotes a positive customer experience and serves as on-site customer contact for technical and service-related problems.

  • Submits prompt, accurate service reports that affect billing, inventory, instrument history, and instrument failure.

  • Follows safe work practices according to company policy.

  • Executes administrative activities in support of service visits.

The essential requirements of the job include:  

  • 1 to 3 years of field service experience and/or customer-facing roles preferred.

  • Technical Degree preferred, or combination of education and experience: (Mechanical, Electrical, Water background)

  • Electronics and electrical background - basic electronics are required and used daily to diagnose instrumentation performance

  • Basic mechanical aptitude is a must, experience with preventative maintenance and technical diagnostics/repair will be helpful, but not required.

  • Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record required.
