Description
The University of Montana Western Division of Education welcomes applicants for an Instructor specializing in Early Childhood Education. Primary responsibilities will include teaching experientially based courses related to foundations of early childhood education, including but not limited to, professionalism, positive guidance, early childhood curriculum, inclusion, and/or early intervention. Courses may be taught in both online and/or face-to-face formats. Additionally, the successful candidate may be expected to maintain scholarly productivity, professional service, advising, and committee work.

Qualifications
Requirements
The successful candidate will:
- Must hold a Master’s in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Must have demonstrated success teaching in face-to-face and online courses at the post-secondary level.
- Must have taught for three or more years in an early childhood setting (PK-3rd grade).
- Must demonstrate a strong knowledge base in experientially based early childhood developmental theories.
- Must have experience with leadership and professionalism skills in early childhood settings.
Preferred
The successful candidate may:
- Have additional certification or experience with Infant and/or Toddler groups.
- Have additional certification in early literacy.
- Have additional certification in Social Emotional Development.

Montana Western is the only public four-year college in the nation offering Experience One (X1), experiential learning delivered on the block schedule. Class sizes are small, and students take a single course at a time, three hours each day for 18 days, before moving on to the next course. Each course is four credits, and four blocks are offered each semester. The block schedule facilitates field and lab work, undergraduate research, study travel, and interdisciplinary teaching.
