About the role

  • Drive the development, negotiation and codification of vendor-specific collaboration concepts for assigned Global Terminal Operators / strategic suppliers
  • Provide input for continuous vendor relationship development and actively identify additional potentials for leverage
  • Implement strategic proposals to secure Hapag-Lloyd’s terminal capacity requirements and competitiveness, incl. frameworks for long-term partnerships
  • Drive cross-regional category strategy implementation and sourcing activities, aligned with relevant stakeholders and frameworks ensuring maximum outcome for Hapag-Lloyd
  • Support port studies to analyze mid- / long-term balance of surplus vs. demand and impacts for Hapag-Lloyd’s sourcing concepts
  • Establish and maintain vendor relationships on relevant levels
  • Ensure close alignment with other procurement-internal and -external stakeholders to support identification of additional value add potentials for assigned global terminal operators / strategic suppliers
  • Support (co-)creation and codification of a global supplier management process, standardization of methods and tools for strategic terminal procurement (i.e. standardized contracts, cross-regional reports and dashboards, coordination of cross-regional harmonization projects) and actively drive roll-out and implementation
  • Provide input for and achieve budget targets jointly with regional procurement for assigned global terminal operators / strategic suppliers
  • University degree in the field of business administration, logistics, transportation management and/or qualified shipping specialist or comparable qualification
  • Minimum of five years’ experience with transportation, shipping, terminals operations
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in procurement functions
  • Result-oriented, enthusiastic, pro-active and problem-solving skills
  • Analytical thinker
  • Good negotiation skills and conflict management finesse
  • Experience in successful stakeholder management
  • Effective communicator, fluent in English both verbal and written
