Supply and Distribution Planner

About the role
The Supply and Distribution Planner is responsible for distribution and capacity planning across the water division while collaborating with inventory planning analysts to maintain field inventory levels. Responsible for creating capacity and supply plans, executing SKU transitions, and maintaining network supply balance through parameters, and collaborating with internal and external cross-functional partners.
This position will serve our Water Division, located in Roswell, GA (Hybrid).
- Play a key role in the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process
- Develop overall system capacity profiles, warehouse inventory replenishment plans, and simulate the impact of capacity, inventory, and lead time policy changes
- Develop action plans for plant capacity utilization and field inventory to reduce the risk of slow-moving and obsolete products
- Publish inventory and capacity reports and perform analysis on an as-needed basis
- Reconcile production plans to capacity utilization against assigned inventory plans on a weekly and monthly basis
- Identify root causes of capacity utilization discrepancies, either recommending corrective actions or entering updates in the production and inventory plans
- Review supply plans and inventory policies and determine optimal analytics and updates on a weekly – monthly – quarterly basis
- Prepare monthly distribution and capacity updates and monitor strategic inventory levels across the network
- Identify and prioritize root causes of fill supply plan variances and excess inventory, and drive corrective actions across cross-functional teams
- Collaborate with Operations to monitor and track capacity utilization, daily production, scrap, inventory valuation, and negative inventory reports
- Leverages Oracle and other systems to execute “day-to-day” supply plan visibility to consistently achieve supply plan objectives while minimizing excess across the water division
- Bachelor’s Degree in the areas of Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, Engineering, Finance, (MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of supply chain planning, business analytics, Finance, Accounting, or related experience in a manufacturing environment

- Great presentation and communication skills
- Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as: Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP supply chain management systems
- Data interpretation and storytelling to an executive audience
- Excellent communication (oral and written) skills; ability to connect with all levels in the organization and be an outstanding teammate
- Excellent analytical and problem identification/solving skills
- Ability to manipulate, cleanse and analyze large amounts of data. Ability to extract data from various data sources, analyze the information in Excel and draw conclusions and recommendations
- Must also possess leadership skills to advise, lead and develop other personnel to accomplish personal, plant, and corporate objectives

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
- HVAC / Water Heating industry experience preferred.
- Experience using Oracle
- Experience with Sales Inventory & Operation Planning (SIOP) process
- Production Planning, Control and Capacity related experiences
- Cost Accounting experience including experience with standard costing, BOMs, Routers, Backflushing of inventory, and Product
- Continuous Improvement projects in a manufacturing operations environment
- APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional or relevant supply chain certification
