We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our Human Resources team in Galveston, TX, League City, TX, Springfield, MO or Glenmont, NY.
As an HR generalist, you will support our client groups in the business by carrying out responsibilities in Employee Relations including performance management, workplace investigations, onboarding and offboarding, policy interpretation and implementation, employee health and safety, leader development, and employment law compliance.
In this role you will work with an embedded, client-facing group that works to enhance the relationship between managers and employees. You will provide coaching, tools, and resources throughout the employment life cycle so managers can effectively lead our people to meet business objectives.
What You’ll Do:
- Builds and maintains positive HR relations with all levels of management and employees.
- Analyzes employee relations issues and provide advice and guidance on decision-making.
- Maintains high level of visibility and approachability.
- Identifies and/or responds to performance management issues and provide objective coaching and advisement to employees and managers in a timely and proactive manner.
- Influences and supports effective relationships between employees and managers by providing coaching and facilitation of discussions between managers and employees.
- Communicates and interprets various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations.
- Conducts workplace investigations in response to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, terminations, and relationship issues.
- Coaches employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues.
- Provides guidance to managers on onboarding best practices; conducts exit interviews.
- Responds to various employee health and safety issues.
- Within functional areas of responsibility, maintains process documents and identifies opportunities and assist in the development of solutions in support of the business.
- Provides support and partnership to HR business partners to meet client needs.
- Utilizes business acumen and client relationships to partner with and support other areas of HR including Leaves and Accommodations, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, etc.
- May be assigned as the point person for an area of responsibility under the ER function umbrella (e.g., unemployment, workers’ compensation, performance management, onboarding, etc.)
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's degree.
- Four to six years of human resources and/or employee relations experience
- Prior experience with any HRIS systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience accepted. Degree emphasis in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
- Employee Relations and independent investigation experience.
Salary for this position can range from $63,472 for candidates who are minimally qualified through $79,326 for more highly qualified candidates. Candidates outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill and education.
