We are searching for the best talent for a Manager External Planning Advanced Therapies to join our team in Raritan, NJ.

 

Position Summary: The Manager, External Planning serves as the primary planning point of contact for external/contract manufacturing sites, ensuring robust supply and materials plans, effective risk management, and strong cross-functional execution to support business requirements. This role leads key planning forums, drives continuous improvement and digital/system capabilities, and partners with internal and external business partners to meet service, inventory, and contractual requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary planning point of contact for external/contract manufacturing sites, representing Advanced Therapies/External Planning across day-to-day execution and long term strategy topics.

  • Lead and mentor a small team responsible for supporting the end-to-end order journey of CAR-T product throughout the external planning network.

  • Own external supply and materials planning in alignment with the monthly planning cadence (IBP), including demand translation, capacity alignment, and creation/maintenance of executable volume and material plans.

  • Lead key planning governance forums (e.g., Supply Review Meetings), clearly communicating demand, supply constraints, priorities, and risk/mitigation plans across internal and external partners.

  • Partner closely with Materials Planning, Procurement, Quality, MSAT, Vein-to-Vein/E2E teams, PES, Finance, Master Data, and IT to ensure timely availability of approved raw materials and operations supplies and to resolve supply, quality, and customer-impacting issues.

  • Drive planning systems and digital capability improvements for external manufacturing, including participation in IT deployments, process standardization, and knowledge management.

  • Represent Planning in external manufacturing contract discussions and ensure contractual obligations are met (e.g., forecast visibility, escalation pathways, minimum volume adherence, and agreed planning inputs/outputs).

  • Lead or support complex initiatives impacting external supply, proactively identifying risks and coordinating cross-functional mitigation plans.

  • Manage inventory and obsolescence risk (SLOB) for external sites/DCs, monitor performance metrics (e.g., schedule adherence), and drive actions to improve service, cost, and compliance.

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with external manufacturers and internal business partners; champion a culture of continuous improvement, harmonization, and disciplined execution.
