Job Summary:

The Senior Disaster Recovery Administrator develops the arrangements and procedures to ensure the organization can respond to a disaster organization independently. Coordinates the design, development maintenance and testing of the disaster recover plans. Functions as lead on projects. Coaches development of staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Establishes disaster recovery testing methodologies.
• Works with vendors of disaster recovery services and facilities.
• Performs risk analysis to determine points of vulnerability and recommends avoidance strategies.
• Conducts business impact analysis.
• Coordinates emergency response procedures.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES
• Business Impact Analysis (Advanced): The identification of critical business processes and the potential damage or loss that may be caused to the organization resulting from a disruption to those processes, or perhaps from a proposed change.
• Disaster Recovery Planning (Intermediate): Knowledge of how to prepare a disaster recovery plan or a business continuity plan. Addresses how the organization is to deal with potential disasters. Knows what precautions must be taken so that the effects of a disaster are minimized and can maintain or quickly resume mission-critical functions. Can conduct the analysis of business processes and continuity needs as well as significantly focusing on disaster prevention.
• Disaster Recovery Risk Analysis (Intermediate): The assessment, identification, planning and control of systems, procedures and practices that can adversely impact the business. Outputs of the analysis process include prevention, contingency planning and preparation of alternatives.
• Disaster Recovery Auditing (Advanced): Conducting an independent review and examination of records and activities in order to test the adequacy and effectiveness of procedures, policies, standards, rules, capabilities and other aspects to ensure compliance with established policy and operational procedures, and to recommend any necessary changes. It may include the independent review and examination of records and activities to assess the adequacy of system controls, to ensure compliance with established policies and operational procedures, and to recommend necessary changes in controls, policies, or procedures. Audits may be used to investigate cybercrimes, training effectiveness, security measures, disaster recovery procedures and many more areas where reviews may be required.
• Disaster Recovery Testing (Advanced): Coordinate and conduct testing to evaluate Plan effectiveness and disaster recovery readiness.
• Disaster Recovery Standards and Procedures (Advanced): The knowledge, adherence and updating of standards and procedures associated with a particular area of focus.
