Dual Diagnosis Clinician - Central State Hospital

Job Description:

Central State Hospital is seeking a full-time Dual Diagnosis Clinician

This position will primarily work Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.​

• Counsel patients in individual and group sessions with individuals with co-occurring substance abuse and mental illness so that they may successfully transition to community based treatment.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, case managers, and nurses to plan and coordinate treatment, drawing on practice experience and patient needs.
• Assess, plan, treat, and record client progress with respect to treatment goals.
• Interview patients, review patient records, conduct assessments, or confer with other professionals to evaluate each patient’s treatment needs.
• Modify treatment plans according to changes in patient’s status.
• Educate patients and their families on co-occurring disorders and treatment considerations, as well as available community resources.
• Counsel or aid family members to assist them in understanding, coping with, or supporting the patient.
• Commit to continual professional development, including emerging best practices.
• Develop or advise on social policy or assist in community development.
• Other duties as assigned.

Strongly preferred: Relevant Master’s degree with licensure and/or certification. Will also consider applicants with a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) credential.
