Frontend Engineer

Company Description


As a member of the Enterprise Product Development Team, a Frontend Engineer will participate in working with internal stakeholders and product managers to translate requirements, wireframes, and mock-ups into internal and external facing web and mobile applications. This position plays a critical role in the development of the UI and fostering an accessible user experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


• Work within agile development team sprints with deliverables and demonstration of results
• Participate in design meetings to create logical, innovative solutions to complex problems
• Collaborate with product owners, developers, and internal stakeholders on new designs and evolve existing ones
• Extend existing interaction models, user flows, and UI specifications
• Implement solutions for interface and interaction design challenges using HTML, CSS, and TypeScript/JavaScript across multiple products, mobile, and web technologies
• Iterate based on stakeholder feedback, data, and technical constraints
• Perform peer code reviews

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES


• General knowledge of building responsive, mobile-first layouts
• General knowledge of web application architectures, libraries and tools
• General knowledge of UX and UI design principles
• General knowledge of REST APIs, TypeScript/JavaScript, and modern web frameworks
and/or HTML and CSS/Sass/Less
• Intermediate Git skills
• Experience with GraphQL is a plus
• Intermediate time-management and multi-tasking skills
• Intermediate written, verbal communication skills, specifically documentation
• Detail-oriented, quality conscious yet flexible to other's ideas and suggestions
• Experience with development methodologies; e.g., Agile, Scrum, Kanban
• Experience with benefit program administration, and health and welfare processes a plus
• Experience with Adobe CC a plus
• Experience with VueJs is a plus

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION


• Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent years of experience in computer science or completion of related boot camp program)
• 2-4 years of experience as a frontend engineer
