Description
St. Mary's College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary's City is accepting résumés for the part-time, temporary position of Farm Project Manager. The Farm Project Manager will be responsible for helping to oversee day-to-day operations at the college farm, including student supervision, management of the garden, and carrying out plans for the growing seasons. Additional responsibilities may include marketing and communication, coordinating volunteer opportunities and tours, managing logistics for produce sales, overseeing composting initiatives, educational opportunities, and other duties as assigned. Works with the environmental studies faculty (ENST) and other stakeholders in long-term strategic planning and visioning for the Kate Chandler Campus Community Farm (Kate Farm) and its activities. This is a part-time temporary position starting April 1, 2025, through June 30, 2025, which has the possibility of extension through June 30, 2026. The hourly rate of pay is $45 depending on qualifications and experience, with no benefits provided.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent life or work experiences.
- Two (2) to three (3) years of farm operation experience preferred.
- Ability to responsibly manage tasks related to running a farm, compost, and pastured poultry program, including working independently and managing a team.
- Ability to repeatedly lift 50 pounds.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Working knowledge and experience with basic farm operations and food production, and the maintenance and upkeep of farm machinery, structures, and systems.
Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered.
