  Job purpose 

•  Prep, Priming, Sanding and Masking of parts in preparation for painting.
•  Use of an HPLV gun to paint various parts for Discflo pumps
•  Hydrotesting
•  Driving Discflo vehicles to pick up parts and/or deliver parts & products to various locations
•  General assistance throughout the shop/general premises

Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience painting metal parts using an HPLV gun.
• Experience painting metal parts using an HPLV gun is a must.
• Knowledge of appropriate preparation of metal parts to be painted, including inspection, cleaning, etc.
• Experience working/painting in a Manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Experience in Forklift operation is a plus.
• Understanding and attention to detail with regard to the proper maintenance of painting equipment and full paint booth
• Valid, current California Driver’s license and clean driving record is required.
• Strong skills in the use of hand tools and mechanical inclination.
• The ability to work independently based on work instruction.
• Sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
• Must be well-organized in a fast-paced, high pressure environment with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Strong organization and time management capabilities and an exceptional attention to detail.

Working conditions

This job operates in a manufacturing environment. Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Moderate Machine noise exists.

Key Skills

• Painting Metal parts: Ability to paint metal parts using an HPLV Gun
• Cleaning and Paint Preparation: Knowledge of appropriate preparation of metal parts to be painted, including inspection, cleaning, etc.
• Maintenance of paint equipment & booth: Understanding and attention to detail with regard to the proper maintenance of painting equipment and full paint booth
• Driving:  Ability to drive various distances
• Ability to follow direction:  Employee should be able to follow directions closely in order to perform various business tasks

Physical Requirements

• The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: viewing a computer terminal; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
• Frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, up to 40 lbs.
• Manual Dexterity – the ability to operate a keyboard, and operate the control panel of the CNC Machines.
• Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
• Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.
