About the role

Position Overview
HFC is seeking to hire a Manager who will play a significant role providing program, administrative, and operational support for a new program around financing the scale of a novel technology to prevent transmission of dengue fever: Wolbachia. To tackle the growing challenge of addressing dengue fever and other arboviruses, the Health Finance Coalition and the Clinton Health Access Initiative are working together to dramatically reduce the health and economic impact of dengue and reduce its spread by introducing – and scaling financing for – a new innovative method that can reduce incidence: Wolbachia. HFC and CHAI are seeking to seize the opportunity to scale this innovative new method by mobilizing resources, supporting country planning, and encouraging adoption of Wolbachia. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment supporting working across public, private and non-profit sectors and developing innovative and blended finance structures to scale a novel technology. Critical to success in this role is a can-do, teamwork-oriented attitude. Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and mobilization of investment opportunities to scale proven innovations and technologies that address dengue prevention.
  • Develop financial models for debt and innovative financing structures, with a strong focus on assessing risk, return, and impact.
  • Conduct financial and strategic analysis on country government and investor interest sovereign debt, public-private partnerships, and other innovative financing mechanisms to support health-related investments.
  • Analyze market conditions, investment landscapes, and regional health system capabilities in targeted geographies.
  • Engage with and support management of relationships with global health organizations, government agencies, NGOs, impact investors, development finance institutions, and private sector partners across targeted regions to drive support for and mobilize investments.
  • Serve as in-country lead or point of contact for relevant country or regional funders, investors, and government stakeholders as necessary.
  • Support development of thought leadership and strategic insights on global health financing trends, particularly in the context of emerging technologies and interventions for dengue.
  • Support the development of reports, white papers, and presentations.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by the Managing Director and Deputy Director of the Health Finance Coalition.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of professional experience in finance, impact investment, management consulting, or global health financing.
  • Experience working with a variety of investor types within the commercial, philanthropic, and development finance sectors.
  • Proven experience in designing, managing, and executing investment strategies or financing initiatives in emerging markets.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial modeling for debt and equity investments, with a focus on global health products, or similar sectors.
  • Familiarity with sovereign debt, public-private partnerships, and innovative financing mechanisms in the context of health financing or development.
  • Strong understanding of the global health funding ecosystem and major global health program implementing partners and how they interact.
  • Experience with how new healthcare products are brought to market in both the public and private sectors.
  • Demonstrated professional maturity to meet with senior level representatives from Ministries of Health, DFIs, and major philanthropies and impact investment firms.
  • Candidate should have strong financial and economic modeling experience, with a keen quantitative and qualitative analysis skillset.  
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • A team-oriented, “low-ego” individual who works collaboratively in a high-performance environment.
  • Experience in working effectively with multicultural and remote teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in other relevant languages spoken in the target regions is a significant advantage.
