Job Duties

This is a restricted position, which is solely funded by the Public Health Emergency Preparedness
Cooperative Agreement for a 1 year period ending June 30, 2026. The availability of funding is
scheduled for review before the grant expiration date and periodically thereafter. Continued
employment is contingent on the continued availability of funds.

The Regional MRC Coordinator provides policy and program guidance, training,
and technical support to MRC unit coordinators, with the goal of enhancing
volunteer recruitment, on-boarding, training, utilization and retention. Ensure
MRC Units are operating within the guidelines of Virginia laws, VDH policies,
National MRC standards, and all grant requirements. Plans and coordinates
regional volunteer mobilizations in support of regional emergency response
efforts.




Minimum Qualifications

• Considerable knowledge of volunteer management, policies and planning
• Knowledge of public health principles and practice
• Ability to work with web-based volunteer management systems, such as the Virginia Volunteer Health
System (VVHS), Virginia’s Emergency System for the Advanced Registration of Volunteer Health
Professionals (EASR-VHP)
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Skilled in data manipulation and analyses

Additional Considerations

• Knowledge of emergency management, public health and the Medical Reserve Corps program.
• Certification in Volunteer Administration preferred.
• Knowledge of the Virginia Medical Reserve Corps program, public health and state government is preferred.
