Exemption Status: Exempt

Salary Range: $84,700.00 - $94,800.00  

*As required under NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018 - Salary range for this role when Hired for NYC Offices 

Position Summary

Under direction of the research administration team, assists with finance and grant-related activities within the department.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinates pre-award activities. Ensures timely submission of federal, foundation, and industry-sponsored grant applications and contracts. Oversees the organization and preparation of all components of grant applications.
  • Submits funding allocation entries in the Weill Business Gateway system. Assists with payment of departmental invoices. Coordinates with finance staff to identify accounts, track invoices received and paid, and submits invoices for payment.
  • Tracks and records financial activity within the enterprise financial system, databases and/or spreadsheets.
  • Prepares and submits journal vouchers in coordination with finance staff.  Responsible for procurement activities related to goods, services, and/or equipment and for disbursement/reimbursement activities as needed.
  • Assists with research financial management activities including the payment of subcontract invoices. 
  • Responsible for the generation of invoices and ensuring payment based on agreements with partner institutions. Updates processes and forms to match new agreements.
  • Maintains, tracks, and updates effort tracking to ensure compliance with time and effort policies.
  • Assists with financial oversight of grants and contracts including but not limited to: updating sponsored awards portfolios, evaluating expenditures, forecasting, preparation and submission of progress and final reports.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Economics or Healthcare related field

Experience

Some finance-related experience, preferably within an academic medical center.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment are essential.
  • Must be detailed oriented, possess analytical skills, and be highly organized.
  • Must possess basic Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
