Part timeThe Assistant Director of Development serves as a strategic partner to the Director of Development in advancing sustainable Ministry Partnership Development (MPD) across the Mid-Atlantic Region. This position provides operational, coaching, and programmatic leadership for the Access Pathway Fellows (APF) Network Capacity Building Program while supporting regional fundraising initiatives, donor engagement events, and staff development efforts.PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Assistant Director of Development advances the mission of InterVarsity by helping under-networked staff develop sustainable support-raising capacity, cultivating strategic partnerships, and strengthening the infrastructure necessary for long-term ministry growth.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Access Pathway Fellows Program Leadership (50%)
- Assist in the administration and implementation of the APF Network Capacity Building Program.
- Support participant onboarding, orientation, and integration into InterVarsity’s Fully Resourced Program.
- Track participant progress toward individualized fundraising and development benchmarks.
- Provide one-on-one coaching to APF participants as assigned.
- Support development of fundraising strategies, donor communication plans, and network expansion goals.
- Participate in monthly and quarterly program assessments.
2. Regional MPD Initiatives and Events (30%)
- Assist in planning and executing regional MPD trainings, workshops, retreats, and fundraising events.
- Coordinate logistics, communications, registrations, and follow-up for development-related events.
- Support donor engagement opportunities and stewardship efforts.
- Assist with presentations, reports, proposals, and fundraising materials.
3. Strategic Development Support (20%)
- Support Metro DC and Southern Maryland MPD efforts and confernces
- Support regional development initiatives and special projects.
- Collaborate with the Director of Development to implement strategic priorities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Growing relationship with Jesus Christ and commitment to InterVarsity’s mission.
- Experience in fundraising, coaching, nonprofit leadership, or related fields preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
- Experience facilitating training, coaching, or leadership development preferred
