Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role will be responsible for enabling application monitoring visibility and reliability, curating monitoring data in Splunk, and enhancing infrastructure monitoring. The ideal candidate will have an exceptional background in Splunk, APM tooling, infrastructure monitoring, and alerting systems.

Job Responsibilities:

• Enable application monitoring visibility and reliability by implementing best practices and leveraging appropriate tools and technologies.
• Curate monitoring data in Splunk to provide actionable insights and improve system performance and reliability.
• Maintain and enhance infrastructure monitoring to ensure the availability and scalability of our systems.
• Investigate other APM tooling to stay updated on industry trends and best practices, and recommend suitable tools for adoption.
• Maintain the on-call system and respond to alerts promptly to minimize downtime and ensure system availability.
• Enhance alerting systems to incorporate new services and ensure timely notification of potential issues.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and development teams to proactively optimize the performance and scalability of our systems.
• Assist other teams in creating and maintaining dashboards, reports, and alerts in Splunk to support monitoring and troubleshooting efforts.
• Limited on call and after hours responsibilities.
  

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or related experience. Master's degree preferred.
• Proven track record of successfully operating in a high-volume Software as a Service (SaaS) production environment.
• 5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional experience with Splunk or similar monitoring and analytics platforms.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools such as Nagios, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Deep understanding of APM concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
