Position Summary:
The Accounts Payable Staff Accountant position manages the processing of Accounts Payable and related financial transactions. The position regularly interacts with Program Divisions, different Operations areas and collaborates with the Contracts team.
Reporting:
This position is in the Finance and Contracts Division, reporting to the Controller.
Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Review, code and process check requests, in an accurate and timely manner;
- Process invoices into financial reporting system, in an accurate and timely manner;
- Ensures that proper documentation exists (i.e., authorized signatures, calculations, supporting backup), prior to processing payments;
- Process and distribute A/P checks;
- Reconcile monthly American Express transactions;
- Reconcile and prepare monthly Prepaid Expenses;
- Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner;
- Resolve accounts payable inquiries and discrepancies; enforce AP procedures;
- Conform with Creative's established AP policies and procedures;
- Assist with the development of written AP policies and procedures;
- Review and analyze employee accounts receivables on a monthly basis;
- Maintain AP records;
- Prepare wire transfer forms;
- Prepare adjusting journal entries on an as needed basis;
- Assist with the firm’s independent auditors on accounting matters.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- BS degree and a minimum of 4 years’ experience related to payables;
- Familiarity with GAAP, FAR and AIDAR;
- Computer proficiency in Computer friendly and capable;
- Must be able to work independently;
- Ability to review, analyze and problem-solve issues; be able to provide recommendations towards resolution;
- Must be detail oriented and organized;
- Must be able to work on multi-tasks;
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with USAID implementing partners a plus.
Compensation & Benefits:
For employees working in the United States, the full-time equivalent annual base salary for this position is expected to be between ($54,500 – 68,000). Salary for part-time employees will be prorated based on actual hours worked. Actual offers will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant education, experience, skills, seniority, performance, and business or organizational needs.
Eligible U.S. based employees, will be able to enroll in medical, dental, and vision insurance, plus a 401(k)-retirement plan with a company match. Additionally, employees will be eligible for company-paid annual leave (vacation & holidays), sick leave, parental leave; as well as short- and long-term disability coverage. Detailed information will be provided at the time a formal offer is extended.
