We have an exciting opportunity to join us in supporting one of our valued customers as a Systems Engineer, Craftsman 1 (M&S Integration) to work out of Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado.

JOB SUMMARY:

USfalcon seeks a Systems Engineer to support the 392d Combat Training Squadron’s (392 CTS) efforts to design, plan, and execute technical solutions required to implement third-party modeling and simulation (M&S) capabilities into current and future space M&S capabilities that support USSF exercises.  The Systems Engineer position requires a mix of project management, technical, acquisition, and requirements development skills to ensure the smooth integration of space M&S capabilities into 392 CTS operations. This position is at Schriever Space Force Base, CO, and requires on-site support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for integrating third-party capabilities into the existing 392 CTS Battlelab M&S architecture.
  • Lead the design, planning, and implementation of technical solutions to integrate third-party capabilities into the 392 CTS Battlelab M&S architecture.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners, including government stakeholders, to gather, document, and manage technical and functional requirements to integrate third-party M&S capabilities into the 392 CTS Battlelab M&S architecture.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate potential risks associated with the integration process to ensure reliability, security, and performance.
  • Define project milestones and deliverables, oversee timelines, and manage allocated resources to ensure project success.
  • Coordinate comprehensive testing and validation of integrated systems to ensure compliance with government regulations, security protocols, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain detailed records of integration processes, updates, challenges, and resolutions for internal tracking and required reporting.
  • Attend technical interchange meetings (TIM), in-progress reviews, and programmatic-level meetings related to 392 CTS-sponsored USSF exercises and mission-focused events.
  • Develop schedules, plans, and briefings; coordinate and monitor activities; and report on those activities through trip reports, briefings, meeting minutes, point papers, quad charts, etc.
  • Attend weekly organizational meetings, as necessary, to maintain awareness of the 392 CTS leadership priorities, tasks, and issues.
  • Carry out tasks as directed by contract leadership required to ensure 392 CTS mission success.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years working in or for DoD organizations.
  • Experience working in DoD or National space organizations.
  • Experience within the DoD applying project management or system engineering processes to create and manage project plans, resulting in timely delivery of project milestones across interrelated efforts.
  • Experience using risk management concepts and strategies to ensure project success.
  • Experience gathering and analyzing technical and financial data associated with DoD projects to assist with financial and manpower resource allocation.

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience managing M&S projects from initial design to completion.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP), certification, or a Certificate of Project Management from an accredited institution.
  • Experience developing or using M&S tools and capabilities (e.g., STK, Peregrine, RAPTOR, Standard Space Trainer (SST)).
  • Experience with DoD requirements, acquisition, or contracting processes.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; additional years of experience may be substituted for degree requirement.

REQUIRED CLEARANCE: Top Secret/SCI  and Special Access Program (SAP) eligible.

TRAVEL: This position requires limited travel (5-6 weeks/year).
