Job Summary

National Business Development Manager, Embolotherapy and Interventional Oncology (NBDM) will lead and manage a dedicated Embolization/IO field team with the objective of increasing revenue for Terumo Interventional Systems (TIS) in the embolization/interventional oncology markets. NBDM will focus on specific physicians and accounts to grow existing embolization business, as well as create new opportunities. NBDM will act as the Subject Matter Expert, working closely with Marketing and Medical Affairs. In addition, NBDM will initiate and effectively integrate a customer relationship management (CRM) tool.  

NBDM will manage a team of Territory Manager(s) and Field Clinical(s), focused on having more formal, clinical, and technological/procedural embolization sales discussions with physicians. NBDM will be responsible for influencing physicians’ embolization treatment plans and increasing Terumo embolization sales. NBDM will need to work proactively and collaborate cross-functionally across TIS/Terumo Medical Corporation (TMC), to include TIS Sales, Marketing, Professional and Clinical Education (PACE) as well as with the Embo Pilar team and TIS/TMC Leadership Team to grow the business through a focused approach.

Job Details/Responsibilities

  • Develop national sales strategies for implementation by the TIS Field Team.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Area Leaders, Region Managers, Territory Managers, Corporate Accounts, Operations and other parts of the organization to build the success of a focused embolization field team.
  • Create, manage, organize and develop a CRM/Salesforce method and process that will aide in a successful embolization sales process. 
  • Respond to requests as the subject matter expert from field and internal stakeholders, e.g, Field, Marketing, PACE, Leadership.
  • Engage in the development of embolization/interventional oncology organizational planning and assist with new product launches.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and PACE in skill set development, which may include training sites, KOL engagement, marketing materials, sales concepts, etc. for the field team as well as any future embolization team expansion. 
  • Meet assigned portfolio sales goals (monthly, quarterly, and annual) and increase sales profitability while minimizing expenses.
  • Manage a field team (Territory Managers/Field Clinicals) by providing coaching, feedback, and performance management. Develop, motivate, and educate direct reports to enhance skills to drive sales results.  
  • Travel with and make joint sales calls with field team to evaluate progress, offer constructive criticism and provide direction.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with upper management within customer networks.

Job Responsibilities (continued)

  • Communicate with Marketing Managers on product issues, competitive activity, pricing, and industry trends and other information obtained through field exposure.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Accounts to drive contracting and sales growth within GPO, IDN, government and independent accounts. 
  • Attend trade shows, conventions, and seminars to increase technical knowledge and interact with customers.
  • Review sales and expense reports of your respective team, while overseeing activities to stay within designated budget. 
  • Meet with key physicians and develop continuing relationships to ensure recommendations of products.
  • Participate as a subject matter expert (product, procedural/clinical, contracting), driving results as it relates to the embolization and interventional oncology markets. 
  • Demonstrate a commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance with all TMC Quality Systems requirements. This includes but is not limited to the prompt recognition and forwarding of customer complaints (i.e. adverse events, product performance reports, etc.) to Quality Assurance (QA), and by ensuring all promotional messaging (i.e. branding strategies, product claims, etc.) and materials (i.e. literature) discussed or presented to customers are clini
