The Maintenance Lead/Supervisor will oversee the technical operations and maintenance of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This role requires comprehensive knowledge of BESS technologies, electrical systems, and data-driven decision-making to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and safety of energy storage facilities. 

Key Responsibilities:

• System Monitoring: Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and software to monitor BESS performance, identify inefficiencies, and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Maintenance Execution: Supervise and perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities on high-voltage components, inverters, battery modules, cooling systems, and associated electrical equipment.
• Technical Leadership: Provide expertise in battery chemistry, thermal management, and electrical engineering to diagnose and resolve system-level failures.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed logs of maintenance activities, equipment status, and system performance data for compliance and reporting purposes.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry safety standards (e.g., NFPA, OSHA, IEC) when handling electrical systems and energy storage components.
• Team Management: Lead a team of technicians, providing technical training and mentorship to enhance their skills in energy storage systems maintenance.
• System Upgrades: Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement software updates, hardware upgrades, and performance optimization strategies.
• Grid Integration Support: Assist in managing interactions between BESS systems and utility grids, including load balancing and power dispatch optimization.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (Li-ion, flow batteries, etc.) in a maintenance or supervisory capacity.
• Proficiency in high-voltage electrical systems, including transformers, switchgear, and power distribution.
• Familiarity with BESS monitoring and control systems (e.g., SCADA, EMS, BMS).
• Strong understanding of battery technologies, thermal management, and degradation mechanisms.
• Certification or training in electrical engineering, energy storage systems, or related fields.
• Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (e.g., IEEE, NEC, IEC).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Preferred:

• Experience with renewable energy integration and distributed energy resources (DERs).
• Familiarity with energy market regulations and grid compliance requirements.
