About the role

Reporting to the HRIS Manager, the primary purpose of this position is to support the HR operations of the campus by reviewing and approving HR workflow transactions, processing new hires, managing and triaging emails and phone calls answering HR and DASH (Oracle HCM) questions. This position provides guidance to campus partners and employees applying knowledge of HR practices and policies.

HCM Records Review/Processing

  • Maintains DAHS (Oracle HCM) employee record integrity by reviewing transactions for accurate dates and employee information in adherence to policy and practices
  • Communicates data-related issues to the campus department for resolution and resolves DASH issues related to HR transactions.
  • Reviews I-9’s for timeliness, completeness, and appropriate documents for both citizens and non-citizens while processing new hires.

 

Internal/External Customer Support

  • Supports Campus DASH transactions by triaging and assigning emails to other team members for research and response
  • Uses problem-solving and critical thinking skills to provide guidance on HR and DASH-related questions.
  • Answers phone calls and provides HR and DASH information over the phone
  • Provides written employee verification information to external agencies.
  • Reviews request documents for proper authorization
  • Compiles requested data from HRIS systems and performs calculations when necessary
  • Uses decision-making and sound judgment in determining the data to disclose.
  • Reviews personnel files with federal investigators.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or comparable areas and one year’s experience in human resources or business office environment
  • Associate’s degree in business, human resources or comparable areas and three years’ experience in human resources or business office environment
  • High school diploma or GED and five years’ experience in human resources or business office environment

Experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft suite with ability to learn new software to advance current skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and use initiative
  • Must be detail-oriented with troubleshooting capabilities
  • Ability to perform research and offer recommendations
  • Ability to work with a variety of audiences providing excellent customer service

 

Preferred Qualifications

Experience

  • Experience working in a human resources office
  • Experience in higher education
  • Experience with an HRIS system

 

Compensation and Benefits:

  • UT market range:  MR07
  • Anticipated hiring range:  $44K-$46K
