Position overview

The ITS Information Technology Services Department is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer, Integrations to be a team member, contributor, and leader.  

Principle Accountabilities

You can expect to gain insight into every aspect of the ITS business model, departments, and critical business processes, including fleet operations, brokerage, and warehouse management.  The Senior Software Engineer, Integrations role will develop, coordinate, implement and communicate the organizations initiatives on our custom EDI/API platform. You will be communicating daily with our top customers and their technology teams. Occasionally, you will be tasked with creating new/modifying Azure Logic Apps as well as creating and managing data transformation processes to ensure any modification does not have downstream effects.  The basic objectives of this position are to ensure stable, reliable, cost-effective, timely, and responsive EDI services in support of business operations. 

Moreover, you will gain valuable expertise as you grow your career ITS.  Additional activities include but are not limited to:

• Makes recommendations for business process solutions.
• Exercises some judgment with consideration of existing system configuration, business processes, defined policies and procedures to determine appropriate course of action and solutions.
• Basic technical/development abilities in support of program debugging and troubleshooting, understands self-development activities and seeks increased responsibilities.
• With minimal supervision, performs the design and develop well structured, optimized, secure and tested integration code.  Modify, review, test, document and implement new and/or enhanced information systems.
• Gathers information from clients regarding business problems.  Analyzes client information and defines business requirements.   Works with clients to prepare integration software design specifications.
• Project management including coordination of external resources to meet partner obligations.
• Identify and communicate ideas to streamline or improve integration processes and procedures.
• Identify and communicate project risks that may impact operations.
• collaborate with other engineers and ensure engineering best practices are followed in integration software development.

Position requirements

We are looking for a motivated individual that works well in team environments and has a passion for data. The individual must be attentive to detail, be able to develop a strong understanding of our business model and be able to work together with our management team and our customers to create products that are requested.  

• Minimum of five (5) years development experience using C#, SQL.
• Minimum of five (5) years development experience in EDI, API, and or Enterprise integrations.
• Strong development and administrative experience with Azure Logic Apps and Function Apps.
• Experience with AS2, (s)FTP, and VAN connections.
• Experience using and designing services and APIs.
• Integration to backend systems using established applications integration technologies and architectures.
• Creating test plans, test files, and conducting testing with trading partners.
• An individual with a strong understanding of EDI/API processes and industry standards.
