Citizens is looking for a proactive and strategic communications manager to help drive our HR communications initiatives, working to bring our people priorities to life while supporting the evolution of our culture, talent, and leadership. This professional will support both internal and external communications programs with an emphasis on delivering compelling and inspirational storytelling and activations to stakeholders that help enable and advance the bank’s cultural transformation.
We’re seeking a forward-thinking and innovative communicator who is enthusiastic about creating creative and impactful communications strategies and plans. The ideal candidate will be keen to shape tactics that connect with a range of audiences to help drive our transformation. This person will blend strategic storytelling, persuasive tactics, and cutting-edge technology like Gen AI to inform and inspire internal and external audiences.
Primary responsibilities include:
Engage with HR stakeholders and craft communications strategies to support HR agenda.
Apply change management best practices to support adoption and behavior change through communications, ensuring connectivity to other HR change initiatives and influencing the inclusion of messaging across the broader set of enterprise communications to ensure a connected and clear set of messages
Ensure strategic communications plans are shaped in a way that incorporates engagement at both a broad Enterprise as well as localized perspective to deepen and strengthen impact.
Establish and manage a network of change champions and communicators across the business.
Develop high impact content thought leadership, and internal messaging, press releases, executive presentations
Develop and maintain highly collaborative relationships at senior leadership levels and cross-functionally, ensuring effective communication and strategy alignment.
Other Change Communications Responsibilities
Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in strategic communications, corporate communications, or public relations, preferably within the financial services or regulated industries.
Strong understanding of the banking industry, including regulatory requirements and reputational risk factors.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear, concise messaging.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
The ability to partner across HR Communications team as well as across Corporate Communications and Campaigns, HR partners, leaders, and key stakeholders to advance People priorities, ensuring strong connectivity of messaging.
Identify key metrics and measurement plans to ensure communication activities are efficient, effective, and scalable.

Hours & Work Schedule
Hours per Week: 40
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 4 days in office, 1 day remote
Pay Transparency
The salary range for this position is $137,000- $204,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the budget, work location, and relevant skills and experience
