Salary Range:

$178,000.00 - $208,000.00

What's the role?

As an API Engineer in the Search Experience group at Etsy, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the shopping experience for millions of app users by developing innovative, scalable features that help buyers find the perfect item—even when they aren’t sure how to describe it. We are seeking a product-focused and delivery-driven engineer to join a multidisciplinary app development team, collaborating with native and API engineers, product managers, designers, and researchers. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on the biggest bets for Etsy's business and contribute directly to Etsy's goals and growth.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy. 

For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States. Candidates living within commutable distance of Etsy’s Brooklyn Office Hub or in the San Francisco Bay Area may be the first to be considered. For candidates within commutable distance, Etsy requires in-office attendance once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. What does the day-to-day look like?

• Collaborate across Product, Design, Analysts, Researchers, and Engineering to build innovative and outstanding shopping experiences for our buyers. 

• Build sophisticated solutions to help our buyers discover items from Etsy’s outstanding and diverse listings inventory for their personalized shopping missions.

• Build high-quality end to end product features in a fast paced agile environment.

• Prototype, optimize, and productionize large-scale product improvements that deliver key results.

• Run A/B experiments to validate product improvements.
