Sr. Infrastructure Engineer, Samsung TV Plus

Position Summary

Samsung TV Plus is a premium global entertainment service and is the most used streaming app on Samsung Smart TVs. A leader in FAST, Samsung TV Plus offers hundreds of channels and thousands of shows and movies on-demand in the U.S. Globally, the streaming
service carries over 3,000 ad-supported linear channels in 30 countries and is accessible on over 630M active devices. Samsung TV Plus is the exclusive home of Conan O’Brien TV, Letterman TV, and hundreds of additional exclusive channels available worldwide. Samsung TV Plus is available on Samsung TVs, Galaxy devices, Samsung Smart Monitors, and Family Hub.

Role and Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable infrastructure solutions on AWS
• Manage and monitor AWS accounts, including user access, permissions, and security policies
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure compliance with Samsung’s corporate security requirements and best practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues in a timely manner
• Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS services, features, and security best practices
• Provision, maintain, and monitor EKS Kubernetes clusters to support containerized applications
• Utilize monitoring tools such as DataDog to track system performance and identify potential issues
• Develop and maintain TypeScript-based applications to support infrastructure management and monitoring
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions/Workflows to automate testing, deployment, and release processes
• Write bash scripts to automate repetitive tasks and improve efficiency

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelors/Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field
• 8+ years of deploying cloud applications and infrastructure in a large-scale production environment
• Ability to translate system requirements into architectural designs and documentation
• Strong knowledge of AWS services, including EKS, S3, CloudFront, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, and EC2
• Experience with security best practices, including encryption, access controls, and monitoring
• In-depth knowledge of AWS security controls, including IAM roles and policies, security groups, network ACLs, and WAF
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
• Proficiency in bash scripting and experience with TypeScript
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions/Workflows
• Experience building and deploying containerized services and applications

PREFERABLE

• Development experience in Typescript/NodeJS.
• Experience testing infrastructure for load and other possible failure scenarios.
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and CDK

Compensation for this role, for candidates based in Los Angeles, CA, is expected to be between $180,000 ~ $225,000.  Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
