Purpose Statement

The Revenue Growth Management (RGM)- Promotions Manager, drives revenue growth and promotional effectiveness across categories, brands, and key retail partners in the US and Canada. This role focuses on leveraging data-driven analytics to develop actionable insights, optimize promotional strategies, and align pricing and assortment decisions with market trends and business goals. As a key collaborator with cross-functional teams, the RGM - Promotions Manager ensures strategic alignment and delivers impactful decisions through advanced analytics, strong communication, and a deep understanding of market dynamics.

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes

Promotions Analytics & Guidelines

· Utilize RGM tools and techniques to conduct detailed promotional analytics, including ROI analysis by retailer, banner, and tactic type.

· Develop and maintain promotional guidelines tailored by category, brand, and retailer (e.g., Kroger, Albertsons, Walmart).

· Monitor promotional execution and consolidate findings into summary reports, scorecards, and performance reviews.

· Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities and provide actionable recommendations.

· Leverage both TPO and TPM to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of trade promotions.

· Utilize predictive analytics to analyze past promotional performance which can aid in demand forecasting.

· Conduct scenario planning based on customer segmentation to understand the value of different promotional structures.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

· Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Finance teams to integrate promotional strategies into key commercial processes, including annual planning and post-mortem evaluations.

· Develop compelling, market-facing sell-in stories to support promotional initiatives and execution.

· Respond to ad-hoc requests, such as addressing competitor actions or market disruptions, with strategic insights and recommendations.

Execution Monitoring & Reporting

· Create comprehensive summary reports and scorecards to evaluate promotional performance across brands and retailers.

· Participate in regular reviews, such as quarterly sales reviews, to assess promotional effectiveness and align on future strategies.

· Monitor and analyze promotional performance using key metrics such as sales growth, market share, and promotional ROI. Conduct post-even analysis to understand what adjustments need to be made for future promotional activities.

· Oversee the promotional budget and ensure cost-effective use of resources.

Strategic Innovation

· Collaborate with internal teams, including Marketing, to drive alignment and innovation in promotional strategies.

· Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies (e.g., AI and advanced analytics) to enhance promotional effectiveness.

· Gather insights on customer behavior, competitive activity, and market trends to inform promotional insights.
 

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related disciplines (e.g., Mathematics, Economics) with strong quantitative aptitude; MBA preferred.

· Minimum 3 years of experience in a trade, finance and/or RGM field, with a CPG or food manufacturing company. Overall food retail knowledge strongly preferred.

· Ability to perform complex analyses, identify insights, and provide data-driven recommendations.

· Proficiency in RGM systems, trade tools (e.g., Blacksmith), CRM platforms, and analytics tools, with an emphasis on technology-driven solutions.

· Experience working with syndicated data tools such as Circana (IRI) or Nielsen

· Advanced written and verbal skills, capable of influencing senior leaders and facilitating cross-functional discussions.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative environment to achieve shared goals.
