Job Description:
Within the Division of Engagement, Civil Rights & Title IX, the Assistant Director of Student Engagement and Impact, Women’s Center contributes to the creation of a vibrant campus environment, developing high-impact experiences for students, and supervising the planning and implementation of student engagement programs. The Assistant Director will work to support the mission and vision of the Office of Student Engagement and Impact by providing student programming, support, and leadership to mitigate and eliminate barriers to educational success for LSU students. The role will involve working with students, creating programming, providing leadership, and handling administrative tasks. Further, this role provides oversight and performs administrative functions of the engagement centers, along with supporting student workers and graduate assistant(s).
Job Responsibilities:
35% - Assist in the management responsibility for the operations, long-term planning and programmatic development, implementation, and assessment of the Women’s Center and LGBTQ+ Center. Identify and support student needs to enhance access, success, retention, and graduation. Establish, lead, and manage new and existing programs and services. Research and recommend new student engagement opportunities that enhance the student experience specifically through leadership development, career readiness/workforce development, first-year experiences and mentoring, and health, safety, and wellness.
20% - Develop and deliver programs, services, and activities that broadly support student engagement. Develop, implement, & assess programs/initiatives that advance the mission of the Centers. Assist with all programs/initiatives affiliated with the Centers. Provide support for and advise student organizations.
15% - Plan, facilitate, and coordinate large events, including relevant conferences, educational summits, and outreach activities. Assist in the development of a yearly calendar of collaborative events, workshops, and other schedules related to assigned activities and services. Collaboratively develop, plan, coordinate, advise, and implement student engagement programming such as outreach, orientation, student leadership, and mentorship initiatives, and other educational programs
25% - Collaborate with other offices and units to support holistic programming. Collaborate with the Director of Assessment and Accountability, Director of Institutional Engagement and Partnership, and Director of Learning and Development to conduct continual program improvement through assessment, research of best practices, and critical observations and evaluation of student trends.
5% - Other duties as assigned
Additional Requirements:
FERPA -As with all LSU employees, due to this position title and/or responsibilities, this position has an obligation to assist students in the acquisition of necessary services. Should a student appear in need of or seek assistance with issues of an emotional, behavioral, or mental health related matter they should be referred to the proper service within the Student Health Center. In situations where the student creates an impression that they are a danger to themselves or others, the advisor should immediately contact the Care Team, the Dean of Students or the appropriate law enforcement agency. The employee outside of those rights contained within FERPA should create no impression of client or patient confidentiality.

Education Level- Bachelors
