Job Summary:

The Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes (BDC) at the University of Colorado Anschutz Campus is seeking an Instructor of Clinical Practice  (Advanced Practice Provider - Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to provide diabetes care in the BDC Pediatric Division. The patient population is primarily newly diagnosed and established children, adolescents and young adults with type 1 diabetes. The successful candidate will provide clinical care for BDC patients in the Pediatric clinic. The candidate will also be working with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, APP’s, nurse educators, dietitians, and clinical social workers. Typical hours are Monday-Friday based on clinic appointments with some on call responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

The position serves at the Instructor of Clinical Practice rank. Duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Provide diabetes care to newly diagnosed and established children, adolescents and young adults with type 1 diabetes

• Phone consultations with patients and other APPs/physicians in the community

• Timely documentation in the electronic medical record

• Educate patients and families in diabetes management

• Maintain the high standards of the existing diabetes program

• Participation in student, resident, and fellow education 

Work Location: This role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.
