Adjunct Faculty - Pharmacy Practice Laboratories

Adjunct faculty are asked to commit to at least one lab session per week. The semester starts May 18th and ends July 31st
- The PCS lab is offered on Tuesdays and requires adjuncts to be present from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Working in the laboratory generally requires standing and walking around the lab for most hours of each scheduled session.
- PCS laboratory may require: standing for the duration of the session, sitting, assessing students’ communication skills playing a member of the medical team or part of a patient (including have vitals checked), and grading student work.
Required:
- Minimum of a B.S. Pharmacy
- Minimum of 1 year working experience as a licensed pharmacist in the U.S.
- Knowledge of pharmacy operations such as communicating with patients and other healthcare providers. Be able to serve as a mock patient for Patient Care seminar laboratories
- Comfort working with computerized learning management systems (Blackboard) and drug information databases (e.g. Lexicomp)
- Experience evaluating student presentations, conducting journal club activities, perform clinical assessment skills such as blood pressure, insulin injection techniques, and demonstrate use of various inhalers.
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Good communication and teaching skills
- Commitment to undergraduate, graduate, and/or professional education and student success
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals)
Preferred:
- Previous experience in the Patients Care Seminar lab as an adjunct or student
- Experience working as a licensed pharmacist in the U.S within the last 5 years
- Higher education teaching experience
Compensation
The pay range associated with this posting reflects the amount the University reasonably expects to pay for this role at this time. Salary offers are determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications as well as internal equity, market data and pay in comparison to similarly situated employees doing comparable work.
Hiring Range: $50/hr
