A role with Target Printing Services means that you’ll be part of a team that leads Target’s Value communication strategy and brings holistic promotional and value stories to life for Target’s guests.  The team has a broad range of responsibilities including planning & development, creative, execution and production. Promotions marketing leverages a variety of print and digital media and is responsible for Target’s Weekly Ad, Digital Weekly Ad, Print Promotions, In-store Promotional Signing and Printing Services.

PRIMARY FUNCTION

As the Color and PrePress Manager of Printing Services, you will be leading and developing a team of production team members as well as creating, implementing, and maintaining color standards across multiple devices in a fast-paced 24-7 production environment. You will provide direction, set goals for daily production, and manage the performance of your team while providing timely feedback. You are responsible for leading a positive culture where teamwork and a ‘can-do’ attitude is a top priority every day. In this role you are responsible for coordinating projects, training team members, monitoring product and color quality, ensuring adherence to the production schedule, assigning work to team members, maintaining, and purchasing inventory of supply items, orienting new team members, and ensuring safety practices and processes are always adhered to. As the Color and PrePress Manager of Printing Services, you are accountable to completing all tasks as assigned by the Sr. Manager.

About you:

  • 5 years’ experience in a Litho and Digital print environment
  • 5 years’ experience in Color Management (Gracol 7)
  • 5 years’ experience in pre-press file operations (Pre-flight to Plate)
  • A proven track record for leading teams and managing performance
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment through multiple projects and details

Tasks:

Color Management

  • Co-manage press profiling & fingerprinting for all presses, focusing on common substrates and critical colors 
  • Create and manage curves unique to each press & material.
  • Manage color certification requirements – tracking color data, submitting to color cert company, etc.
  • Train TMs on color control processes – Prepress & Operators (using color management tools, when to adjust on press vs in file, what adjustments to make based on color data, etc.)
  • Co-manage press approvals, guiding color adjustments based on color data
  • Manage calibration o
