Summary
Rural Resources Community Action (RRCA) is seeking a compassionate and dependable Classroom/Kitchen Aide to support early childhood education programs. This role involves assisting in classroom activities, maintaining a safe and clean environment, preparing meals, and supporting children’s social-emotional development. The position may also include responsibilities as a Bus Monitor.

Works with children aged 5-12 years.


Salary Information
Our Classroom/Kitchen Aide position is offered at $18.48 to $19.99 per hour. Actual wage will vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, experience and qualifications. Employees who successfully meet or exceed performance expectations during their annual performance evaluation will be eligible for a 4% wage increase. The full salary range for this position is $18.48 to $49.26 per hour and represents the low and high end of the total salary range for this position. 


Benefits Information 

Temporary employees are not eligible for RRCA benefits other than Paid Sick Leave which will accrue at 1 hour per 40 hours worked.

Key Responsibilities
• Assist teachers with classroom activities and supervision of children
• Prepare and serve meals and maintain kitchen cleanliness
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitation tasks
• Support children’s development through positive interaction
• May assist with bus monitoring and child safety during transport


Physical Demands and Work Environment
• Regularly required to stand, sit, kneel, and lift
• Ability to work in a classroom and outdoor environment with moderate noise
• May be exposed to varying weather conditions

Requirements

 Qualifications
• Ability to interact positively with young children and adults
• Basic understanding of child development and guidance techniques
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting (up to 45 lbs.), kneeling, and standing for long periods
• Strong communication and teamwork skills


Education and Experience
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Prefer one year of experience with preschool or elementary-aged children


Certifications and Licenses
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
• Physical exam, First Aid/CPR, and Food Worker’s Card within 30 days of hire
• TB test and MMR immunization documentation required
• Acceptable completion of a criminal history background check
