OVERVIEW:

The Department of Administrative and Financial Services (DAFS) Office of Information Technology provides information technology support to over 13,000 employees.  MaineIT oversees large-scale enterprise applications that support the critical and diverse business needs of the State of Maine and its agencies.

ABOUT THE JOB DETAILS:     

This advanced technical and analytical position involves designing, developing, and maintaining highly complex databases, data analysis, data modeling, performance tuning, and DB administration, supporting MaineDOT’s data analytic solution and other MaineDOT systems. Candidates are expected to have strong problem-solving and organizational skills, be able to work independently and in a team environment and interact effectively with our business partners.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Your job as an Application DBA will have responsibility for supporting MaineDOT Data Warehouse solution and other MaineDOT systems when necessary.  Other duties will include assisting with managing COTS implementations and troubleshooting software application issues. Work will involve frequent communications with our MaineDOT Business Partners, MaineDOT AppDev peers, Software Vendors, and other MaineIT Technical Staff.  

Preference will be given to candidates who display a high-level skill set in the following areas:

• Oracle databases (19c or higher) – administration / performance tuning
• Oracle Analytics Cloud
• Data Modeling and Data Analysis
• Structured Query Language (ANSI/PL/SQL), 
• Strong oral and written communications
• Strong desire to provide great Customer Service
• Ability to define and resolve complex technical problems independently and
