We are an independent, global, one-stop-shop focused on delivering Central Laboratory Services that are tailor-made, timely and flexible to meet the evolving study demands of traditional to increasingly complex trials. Additionally, we provide Functional Service Provider (FSP) Solutions, supporting our clients with scientific and technical expertise, acting as an extension of their team, coordinating all laboratory related needs, advising on strategies for lab data collection and providing end-to-end analytical and logistical solutions.


Summary:
The SVP, General Counsel, will play a critical role in providing strategic legal guidance to the CEO and leaders building the legal function to support the company strategy. This position requires a legal professional with experience in dealing with general corporate and contracting matters for highly regulated industries, including global expertise, risk management, specialized healthcare matters, and general negotiations. The successful candidate will have significant negotiation experience and is energized through process improvements and efficiencies. This is a global role that involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to mitigate legal risks and support the company's growth objectives.

Responsibilities:
• Strategic Legal Guidance: Advising on legal matters that impact the company's overall business strategy, including contracts, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
• Contract Review and Negotiation: Drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements with vendors, clients, and partners.
• Compliance Management: Ensuring the company adheres to all industry applicable laws and regulations.
• Risk Management: Identifying potential legal risks and developing strategies to mitigate them.
• Legal Team Management: Overseeing the legal team, including hiring, training, and development.
• Litigation and Dispute Resolution: Representing the company in legal proceeds and/or coordinating with external counsel.
• Business Partner: Working closely with business units to provide legal advice and support.

Education/Experience/Skills:
• 10 plus years’ legal experience with a minimum of 3 years as General Counsel; with a focus on supporting commercial, corporate and operational matters for a highly regulated industry.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admitted to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Proven track record in advising business units on commercial and corporate needs as well as the regulatory impact.
• Experience in driving improvements to enhance legal service efficiencies for our internal customers.
• Experience utilizing legal technologies such as advanced contract management systems.
• Experience in collaborating with cross-functional departments.
• Passion for collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Ability to provide proactive and strategic legal advice aligned with business objectives.
• Holistic understanding of the industry and integrating legal strategies with overall business goals.
• Proficient in concise and effective written and verbal communication.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Forward-thinking approach to legal technology adoption and integration into daily workflows. Experience implementing operational improvements that balance legal risk management with business objectives.
• Commercially driven with a focus on stakeholder partnership.
• Thrives in fast-paced, business-centric environments, typical of high-growth companies.
• Excellent self-management and organizational abilities.
• In-depth knowledge of antitrust and health care matters in commercial agreements.

Location:
• Raleigh, NC preferred for this position
• Remote with the ability to attend in-office meetings as needed
• Periodic travel as needed
