The Group Insurance Actuarial team is looking for a proactive and adaptable individual who is eager to learn and leverage their skills to make meaningful contributions to our disability product line. This position will lead pricing and actuarial support of our paid family medical leave products, while also assisting on the other disability products. This role offers the exciting opportunity to work closely with other business areas including the finance, claim operations, underwriting, and product teams, enhancing your understanding and impact across business areas.

The employee work arrangement for this position will depend on both business needs and your location. There is preference in candidates who can occasionally be present at one of our on-site offices however, the team is also open to considering virtual candidates, depending on the circumstances.

What you can expect:

  • Develop pricing rates for new and existing paid family medical leave products

  • Analyze and report on key business drivers that impact product profitability

  • Create innovative solutions that streamline routine business processes and improve efficiency

  • Collaborate within a small team of actuaries and across many business functions, gaining valuable external perspectives

  • Leverage technical skills and judgment to set actuarial assumptions including paid family leave and LTD manual rate assumptions

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, computer science, or related field

  • 4+ years of experience in actuarial roles

  • Strong technical and analytical skills, essential for developing accurate actuarial analyses

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills that complement technical abilities

  • Self-motivated individual with desire to learn independently and from others

  • Ability to be flexible and manage several requests at once

  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel, Python, SQL

It’d be a plus if you had:

  • ASA/FSA designation

What we offer you:

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $118,700.00 to $176,600.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
