Role Purpose

Enabling the delivery of projects and initiatives is key to ensuring the Information Security organization is achieving common objectives that are aligned to IHG’s corporate strategy as well as Product & Technology’s multi-year priorities. The Director of Security Programs and Transformation within the Information Security Center of Excellence team will help ensure delivery of these projects, demonstrate the value delivered, and contribute to enhanced security maturity by providing leadership and program oversight. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Champion Agile process adoption: Work with the Product & Technology Agile CoE as the Information Security Agile Tower Lead to help drive collaboration and alignment on best practices and work prioritization. 
  • Provide project management oversight and governance: Monitor and report on progress and status of Information Security initiatives; communicate status to all levels (including executives) in the Information Security organization and the broader Product & Technology organization.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives: Manage continuous improvement projects, create deliverables, and provide recommendations based on analyses completed during those engagements within Information Security and with cross-functional teams, based on priorities set by the Information Security Leadership Team.  
  • Provide leadership direction and subject matter expertise: Demonstrate proficiency in program delivery project execution (both Agile and waterfall methodologies), project delivery governance, and change management. 
  • Own the change management strategy and execution for Information Security initiatives: Understand change impacts and measurement and manage the change roadmap across the Security portfolio. Collaborate on communication of changes to ways of working for colleagues and stakeholders with cross-functional teams. Understand the audience and articulate the narrative to minimize disruption and support adoption.
  • Collaboration with other Product & Technology teams: Work cross-functionally on project processes and ways of working, status reporting, resource tracking, release notes, Agile adoption/transformation, and change management.
  • Demonstrate leadership and coaching:  As needed, help lead COE team members and provide subject matter expertise to colleagues across the Information Security organization. Information Security experience is not required but is a plus.

Key Skills & Experiences

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years’ work-related experience

Critical Expertise & Experience: 10+ years work-related experience in program management, change management, business implementations, strategic project leadership, consulting, or project governance.  Experience in managing cross-functional teams.  Demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines, including but not limited to process/program redesign, organizational change management, training program development, and project / program management, and security.

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to take complex information and present to all levels of management, staff, clients and vendors.
  • Ability to quickly understand diverse company policies, products, markets, processes, platforms, hotel operations and technology applications as well as a strong understanding of business principles and practices.
  • Ability to collect, analyze and assess information to draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Strategic thinker and self-starter with the ability to quickly assess and prioritize work and provide thought-leadership.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in leading and developing multi-disciplined work teams.
  • The ability to proactively identify problems and recommend solutions – strong process improvement capabilities.
