Description
The Sergeant Security will assist the security supervisor in the supervision and monitoring of shift security operations. Provide protection and security for patients, employees, visitors, and volunteers by properly implementing security management plans, protocols, and directives. Protect hospital buildings, assets, and grounds as assigned by insuring that proactive security patrols are conducted throughout the institution. Perform security patrols of the hospital, garage and perimeter.Qualifications

- Make a constant patrol of the hospital to ensure that officers are on post and performing duties properly .
- Ensure that work orders are completed for safety and security violations.
- Conduct follow-up to ensure that work is completed in a timely manner.
- Timely and appropriate response to all emergency situations.
- Ensure the applicable policies, procedures and directives are followed according to the specifics of the emergency situation.
- Write accurate incident reports and conduct thorough initial investigations.
- Review incident reports submitted by subordinates for accuracy and quality.
- Review DVR system tapes in an effort to further investigative efforts into crimes and other noteworthy incidents.
- Ensure that a thorough inventory of security equipment is performed.
- Immediately report any inventory discrepancies to the shift supervisor being relieved.
- Ensure equipment broken or damaged during the course of the shift is properly reported to the Security Director.
- Speak up when team members appear to exhibit unsafe behavior or performance
- Continuously validate and verify information needed for decision making or documentation
- Stop in the face of uncertainty and takes time to resolve the situation
- Demonstrate accurate, clear and timely verbal and written communication
- Actively promote safety for patients, families, visitors and co-workers
- Attend carefully to important details - practicing Stop, Think, Act and Review in order to self-check behavior and performance

- Conduct shift briefings and debriefings for the purpose of disseminating vital information and reinforcing departmental expectations.
- Inform the oncoming supervisor of noteworthy daily events.
- Perform daily uniform inspections at the beginning of each shift.
