Utility Labor Groundskeeping -1st shift Temperanceville, VA

Job Details:

This position is responsible for maintaining product flow and relieving team members online for breaks and filling in during labor shortages while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
              The essential functions of this job includes, but are not limited to:

              General upkeep of the landscaping in and around the Tyson facilities, general upkeep and trash removal in the parking lot, smoking area and walkways, as well as performing minor chores and tasks for the plant and grow out departments.

Maintains the grounds, Parking lots and walkways clean and in good condition In charge of Fertilizing and mowing lawns in the complex, as well as trimming shrubs, removing landscape debris, etc Assists with maintenance of grounds and landscaping throughout the entire facility as required, including trash removal and upkeep of parking lots and adjoining locations. Manually able to grease, change oil, and clean various equipment. Must be able to handle and move heavy loads occasionally (ie: transfer of used cooking oil to rendering plant, move boxes to storage, etc) Must be able to understand and agree to follow Safety Rules (ie. Lockout/Tagout) Must be able to comply with OSHA standards. Must be able to rotate to Growout as required to help in the vaccinating crews. Saturday and Sunday work required. All other duties as requested by the supervisor.

II. MUSCULAR /SKELETAL REQUIREMENTS:
 

              1.           Must have good hand-eye coordination
              2.           Capable of carrying equipment, operating machinery, etc., in excess of 40 pounds when needed.

              3.           Must be able to operate power tools and equipment required to do all landscape duties.
              4.           Must be able to work on and inspect equipment, which may involve bending, turning, stooping, twisting, and climbing.

              5.           Must be able to do repetitive lifting and gripping of up to 10 pounds when working in the vaccination crew.
              4.           Able to move freely throughout the plant over and around equipment, people and other

obstacles.

5.           Must be able to tolerate climates ranging from very cold to very hot and form very wet to very dry.
8.           Must be able to communicate and get along well with others.

              9.           Must be able to climb ladders
              10.         Must be able to reach, lift and work overhead

              11.         Must be able to walk, stand or sit for the duration of the shift

III. TYPES OF EQUIPMENT REQUIRED TO OPERATE
 

Various small hand tools Cutting tools and Power tools Various Gardening equipment (shears, shovels, axes, hacksaws, etc) All associated shop equipment
 

IV. MINIMUM EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, DIPLOMAS, OR TECHNICAL EXPERTISE REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE JOB
 

            1.         Must be able to work other shifts and learn other duties.
