About the role

Nashville General Hospital is currently seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to join our Finance Department. This is a Day Shift, on site/in office position in Nashville, TN.

This position plays a vital role in managing the hospital’s accounts payable processes and ensuring accurate and timely vendor payments. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in healthcare finance or hospital accounting and a passion for efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Accounts Payable Supervisor Key Responsibilities:

Manage full-cycle accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, approval workflows, and vendor payments (check, ACH, wire)
Verify invoice accuracy and compliance with hospital policies and healthcare regulations
Maintain accurate records in financial software (Multiview or similar ERP system)
Monitor and manage AP aging reports, ensuring timely payment of invoices
Communicate with vendors to resolve payment issues and discrepancies
Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals and reporting
Work closely with Purchasing and Receiving to improve procure-to-pay processes
Lead, train, and support AP team members to ensure consistency and accuracy
Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance departmental efficiency

Required Skills/Qualifications:

Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred
Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in an accounts payable supervisor or lead role, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting
Strong knowledge of accounts payable workflows and accounting principles (GAAP)
Experience with Multiview or similar ERP systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with vendors and internal departments
