About the role
Nashville General Hospital is currently seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to join our Finance Department. This is a Day Shift, on site/in office position in Nashville, TN.
This position plays a vital role in managing the hospital’s accounts payable processes and ensuring accurate and timely vendor payments. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in healthcare finance or hospital accounting and a passion for efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Accounts Payable Supervisor Key Responsibilities:- Manage full-cycle accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, approval workflows, and vendor payments (check, ACH, wire)
- Verify invoice accuracy and compliance with hospital policies and healthcare regulations
- Maintain accurate records in financial software (Multiview or similar ERP system)
- Monitor and manage AP aging reports, ensuring timely payment of invoices
- Communicate with vendors to resolve payment issues and discrepancies
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals and reporting
- Work closely with Purchasing and Receiving to improve procure-to-pay processes
- Lead, train, and support AP team members to ensure consistency and accuracy
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance departmental efficiency
- Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred
- Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in an accounts payable supervisor or lead role, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable workflows and accounting principles (GAAP)
- Experience with Multiview or similar ERP systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with vendors and internal departments
