Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

This is a permanent position in a global mobility team providing administrative support primarily with EMEA Immigration but also in global immigration, international business travelers, relocation, international assignments,  and global mobility projects.   The Specialist will report to the Director of Global Mobility in Corporate Legal, Ann Arbor, MI, USA.  In this hands-on role, you will follow company procedures in initiating, monitoring progress and tracking immigration cases and other miscellaneous global mobility projects. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Working with Sr. Global Mobility Manager, suppliers and other stakeholders on immigration, relocation, assignments, transfer cases, international business travel.
  • Partner with Director of Global Mobility, External Counsel and internal stakeholders in developing, documenting, implementing and communicating new processes with the objective of having clear and well defined internal guidelines and processes
  • Initiating business traveler's immigration assessments and monitoring global immigration cases, primarily to Europe.
  • Initiating candidate's immigration screenings, requesting relocation estimate from supplier and review for accuracy
  • Working closely with outside immigration counsel on all work authorization and immigration cases to ensure timely processing and issue resolution.
  • Ensuring completion of documentation required for work visas in a timely manner
  • Proactively monitor the progress of immigration, relocation, transfers, international assignment cases, international business travelers and communicate with the appropriate stakeholder regarding the status of new visa petitions, extensions, green card related work and relocation
  • Monitoring the global immigration mailbox, dealing with a  high volume of very detailed and complex correspondence.
  • Tracking visas and prepare activity reports.  Recordkeeping
  • Participating in meetings
  • Staying abreast of  Global immigration updates and trends in order to benchmark and develop alternative solutions to immigration challenges
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain high standards for all work performed
  • Provide backup support in other miscellaneous projects and tasks related to immigration, relocation, transfers, international assignments and global mobility program

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Level Degree and 12+ months of work experience in immigration
