Where and how you can work

Our flagship office is in Sydney, Australia, but we've made our way from down under, to a hub San Francisco, which is now home to our US operations.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

You’ll also support all change management and policies that safeguard our general ledger and financial reporting structures in this space.

A third focus area if overseeing all of general ledger controllership and facilitation of the close process for the Finance Operations and Accounting teams. You’ll focus on all reporting structure and system integration requirements both up and downstream to the accounting close process and ERP. You’ll oversee the design and change management of all processes and policies that safeguard our general ledger and financial reporting structures in this space.

Reporting to the Corporate Accounting Lead (of the distinct focus area), you'll play a pivotal role in evolving Canva's capabilities in this space, while ensuring that our processes and policies support the scale and complexity of a rapidly-expanding company.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Executing timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual accounting close processes in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant standards.
  • Supporting the development and help to maintain effective internal controls to safeguard our accounting and close processes and enhance the reliability of financial information.

  • Supporting collaboration across departments to enhance cross-functional understanding of financial processes and outcomes.
  • Streamlining and optimizing financial processes, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Identifying opportunities for system enhancements and leading implementation efforts to ensure the scalability of financial operations.
